Pursuing God-Sized Dreams:: Interview with Amy Kratzer

Ever feel like God is calling you to a dream that is bigger than life, and you’re wondering, “Who? Me?! You’ve got the wrong person, Lord!” That kind of God-sized dream can make us feel small and insignificant.

Today’s guest knows that feeling exactly, and she shares her incredible journey from doubting her calling to founding a non-profit organization.

Amy Kratzer is the co-founder of Girl Set Free, Inc, an ethical fashion brand that develops artisan businesses through fair trade and empowers women to flourish and grow where God plants them. Through their fashion line and social media efforts, Amy and her husband Jeremy help educate and reconnect consumers to the people who make their clothing. And they’re making a difference in lives around the world, from Cambodia to India to Nepal and to Italy. Women’s lives are being changed, and their communities impacted by purchases you and I would make everyday anyway.

In today’s interview, Amy talks about the mission trip that started it all, how she dramatically changed career fields, how God prepared her along the way, and how God is still teaching her to rely on Him day by day.

Not only is Amy an incredible woman, she’s also become a close friend over the past year as we’ve prayed over each other’s ministries and supported one another in these bigger-than-life dreams God has called us to. I’m thrilled to see how God is moving in and through the Kratzers, and I’m excited to be a part of it!

You can also be a part of this incredible mission by funding the Girls Set Free, Inc KickStarter campaign. They’re offering backer levels starting at $1 with incentives that range from an eBook about Amy’s capsule wardrobe, to beautiful items from their spring collection, to the chance to model in their fall look book AND keep all the clothes you wear, to even spending a day designing garments with Amy! What a blast! Check their KickStarter page for more details.

I was so encouraged by the interview with Amy, and I hope you are too. No matter what Big Dream God is calling you to, know that He who began this good work in you will be faithful to complete it. And He can do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask or imagine!
