Once upon a time,
in a faraway land
there lived a woman
who simply wanted to read the Bible.
But the universe seemed to conspire against her…
she’d forget her pen…
she’d doze off…
the baby would wake up…
the baby would be cranky…
she’d put in a load of laundry…
she’d realize what time it is…
she’d rush to get herself dressed… and the baby
she’d hurry out the door, shamed and guilt-ridden
promising to do a better the next day, only to fail again.
Does that story sound familiar?
It happens to so many of us overwhelmed women, but it doesn’t have to be that way.
Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
What if when He said, “Come,” He didn’t mean “add another thing to your to-do list”?
What if “coming to Jesus” looks different from what we’ve heard in Sunday Schools and sermons?
What if Jesus invites us to abide in Him–to dwell with Him–every moment of every day, even when reading the Bible isn’t an option?
Join me on a 31-day series where we’ll explore what it means to abide in Christ as 21st century women. We’ll explore Scriptures on the topic, we’ll look at practices we can easily incorporate into our day, and we’ll hear from other women on the journey.
Because abiding in Christ is not just another task on our to-do list. Abiding in Christ is the very source of JOY.
